I provide Counseling for Couples. I will seek to help you understand any current relational problems, issues with intimacy, stressors, and current communication patterns. As a couple you will create goals for what you hope to accomplish. We will work to recognize the benefits and gifts each individual brings into the relationship that strengthens and supports a positive union.  We will uncover how each partner contributes to the identified problems in the relationship and what each brings into the relationship from their experiences with family of origin and childhood. Couples counseling requires a commitment to understanding your partners perspective and being vulnerable to share your fears, needs, and experiences in the relationship. As you begin to incorporate better communication and authenticity to one another, you will start to experience improved intimacy and satisfaction within the relationship. In couples counseling the identified client is the couple and any individual contact to the therapist by each partner will be subject to a “No secrets Policy” which we will review at the start of therapy.

“This is the point where love becomes possible. We see the other with the eye of the heart, an eye not clouded by fear manifesting as need, jealousy, possessiveness, or manipulation. With the unclouded eye of the heart, we can see the other as other. We can rejoice in the other, challenge the other, and embrace the other without losing our own center or taking anything away from the other. We are always other to each other — soul meeting soul, the body awakened with joy. To love unconditionally requires no contracts, bargains, or agreements. Love exists in the moment-to-moment flux of life.” – Marion Woodman
