I provide therapy for Families due to a variety of needs. Perhaps the family has noticed a change in individual members of the family and feel meeting all together will strengthen the family . Changes in the family structure can cause stress to and may reflect as behavioral problems in children. Dysfunctional patterns of relating can create poor boundaries and ineffective communication. Family therapy identifies problems and works to improve skills to manage and facilitate positive growth for the family. I will facilitate discussions exploring what each member views as a catalyst for positive change. I will encourage members to share their needs with the family and work on meeting the needs of others within the family. I view family therapy as a way of strengthening the bond that exists among members and towards the family itself.
“Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible – the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.” Virginia Satir
